#45: "My job is to write about them as individuals so people get to know them as individuals."
Peter “Fish” Case interviewed me recently on his show “Vermontitude” which focuses on important issues in our town and region. His questions forced me to articulate clearly what the hell I really think I’m doing when I hang out with (and write about) my friends on the street.

“When people ask me if I know a lot about trauma-informed care, I say no, but I know about human-informed care and I think that’s where we have to start.”
Great interview! I so appreciate the depth, humor, and insight both in your conversations with the individuals you meet on the street and in your writing about and reflecting on those conversations. Thank you for reminding us of the individuality and humanness we all share.
Napping and staring out the window — two of my favorite writing habits as well.
